Home Depot Black Friday: Tools and Appliance Deal Guide

Key takeaways

  • In 2025, Home Depot's sale started weeks early, with up to 45 to 50 percent off select tools and up to 40 percent off major appliances.
  • Buying multiple appliances can bring extra savings, with offers of up to 750 dollars or 1,000 dollars in other reports.
  • Slickdeals lists power tools, hand tools, large appliances, outdoor gear, home security, lighting and garage storage as typical categories.
  • Free delivery on select items and free tools or batteries with some purchases appeared in the reports.
  • I could not confirm Home Depot's price-match policy, so check the current policy before you buy.

TechRadar reported on 5 November 2025 that Home Depot’s Black Friday sale was already live weeks before Black Friday on 28 November, with up to 45 percent off select tools (another section of the article says up to 50 percent), up to 40 percent off major appliances and additional savings of up to 1,000 dollars on appliance purchases. Free shipping and free tools or batteries with select purchases were also advertised.

This guide to Home Depot Black Friday uses that report, a Slickdeals page on Home Depot’s typical deals and NBC Select’s 2025 shopping advice. The Slickdeals page is undated and refers to 2023, so I use it only for the type of products usually discounted. I have not seen Home Depot’s official 2026 ad. Black Friday 2026 is on Friday, 27 November.

When Home Depot’s Black Friday Sale Starts

TechRadar’s 2025 article shows that Home Depot’s sale was live by 5 November, weeks before Black Friday on 28 November, and gave no end date. The Slickdeals page says the pre-Black Friday sale runs through November, but it refers to an earlier year.

TechRadar (5 Nov 2025)Sale already live, weeks before Black Friday on 28 Nov

For 2026, check Home Depot’s site from early November and treat 27 November as the headline date.

Tool Deals

TechRadar reports up to 45 percent off select tools in its summary, and up to 50 percent in a later section, so the exact figure is unclear. It also mentions free shipping and free tools and batteries with select purchases. Slickdeals lists RYOBI blowers, inverters and router tables, DeWalt tools, hand tools, tool sets and boxes.

Deal typeWhat to check
Percentage off select toolsWhich tools and brands are included
Free tool or battery with purchaseWhether it is a bonus you wanted
Tool sets and boxesWhether you need every piece
Battery platform bundlesWhether you already own that battery system

Our own tip: stick to one battery brand so your tools share batteries and chargers.

Appliance Deals

TechRadar says Home Depot offered up to 40 percent off major appliances, including refrigerators, washers and dryers and ranges, additional savings of up to 1,000 dollars on some purchases, and extra discounts when you buy multiple appliances. Slickdeals mentions up to 750 dollars off when buying two or more select major appliances in an earlier year.

Appliance typeWhat to do before buying
RefrigeratorMeasure the space and door swing
Washer and dryerCheck the capacity and the hookups
RangeCheck fuel type and installation
BundlesCheck that you need each appliance

NBC Select notes that mattresses and large appliances are best bought around Presidents’ Day, which means Black Friday is not always the lowest point for appliances.

Other Categories and Bonus Offers

Slickdeals lists gardening and outdoor gear, home security, building supplies and lighting, and garage storage systems. TechRadar’s headline also mentions Christmas decor discounts. Slickdeals says free delivery applied to select items and all holiday decor in an earlier year.

How to Judge a Home Depot Deal

Check the item’s normal price with a price-history tool, compare with other retailers, and read the fine print on bundles and rebates. NBC Select recommends checking return and price-match policies, signing up for alerts and stacking savings with rewards cards.

Compare retailersAnother store may match or beat it
Read bundle termsExtra savings may require buying several items

FAQs

When does Home Depot Black Friday start?

In 2025, TechRadar reported the sale already live on 5 November, weeks before Black Friday on 28 November. Slickdeals says the pre-Black Friday sale runs throughout November. Black Friday 2026 is on 27 November, so check Home Depot’s site in early November. Our own addition: sign up for the store’s emails and check the app, because the best offers often appear first online and may differ from what you see in store.

What tool deals does Home Depot offer?

TechRadar reported up to 45 percent off select tools in 2025 (another section says up to 50 percent), free shipping and free tools and batteries with select purchases. Slickdeals lists RYOBI, DeWalt, hand tools and tool sets. Check which brands are included and whether you need the bundle. Our own addition: before you buy a tool bundle, check that the battery and charger match any tools you already own, and look at the warranty and return terms.

Are appliances cheaper on Black Friday at Home Depot?

TechRadar reported up to 40 percent off major appliances in 2025 and extra savings on multiple purchases. But NBC Select says large appliances are best bought around Presidents’ Day, so compare with the price history and measure your space carefully before buying. Our own addition: measure doorways, hallways and the installation space first, and ask whether delivery, installation and haul-away of the old appliance cost extra at checkout.

Does Home Depot price match?

I could not confirm Home Depot’s price-match policy from the sources used here. Neither TechRadar nor Slickdeals mentions it. Check the current policy on the Home Depot site before you buy, and keep your receipt in case you need it. Our own addition: compare the total price with at least one other retailer, because a store may match or beat an offer even when its own policy is not obvious.

Is the Slickdeals page current?

Not entirely. It is undated and refers to 2023, so I only use it for the types of products Home Depot usually discounts. For dates and prices, rely on Home Depot’s own 2026 announcements and recent coverage. For anything dated, the safest approach is to read the latest offer page on the retailer’s own website, note the end date and compare it against the price history.

Is it worth buying a tool bundle?

Only if you need most items. Free batteries or extra tools can make a bundle good value, but a bundle you do not need is not a saving. Compare the bundle price with the cost of the items you actually want, and stick to one battery platform. Our own addition: count the items you would buy anyway, price them separately, and compare with the bundle total, because a larger bundle can hide the cost of extras.

Measure Twice, Then Buy

The best Home Depot deal is the one that fits your space, your toolkit and your budget. A big percentage off the wrong item is still a waste.

Before 27 November, write down the three tools or appliances you really need, check their normal prices and measure your space. Then you can act quickly when a good price appears.
