Amazon Great Indian Festival: How to Get the Best Prices

Key takeaways

  • PickMyCard: the SBI Card offer was 10 percent instant discount, capped at 13,750 rupees per card.
  • Minimum spend was 2,490 rupees per transaction, or 4,990 rupees for mobiles net of exchange.
  • Excluded cards included Cashback SBI, Flipkart SBI, Paytm SBI, corporate cards and RuPay credit cards via UPI.
  • Reward points on discounted orders are reversed later, says PickMyCard.
  • I could not confirm the sale's end date; check Amazon.in for current offers.

PickMyCard, an Indian card comparison site, reported in a guide dated 29 September 2026 and updated 7 October 2026 that the SBI Card offer for Amazon’s Great Indian Festival gave 10 percent instant discount, capped at 13,750 rupees per card, with a minimum purchase of 2,490 rupees per transaction, or 4,990 rupees for mobiles net of exchange. Early deals ran from 25 September to 7 October 2026, and the main sale opened on 8 October.

Today is 28 October 2026 and I could not confirm the sale’s end date, so the sale may be over or ending. This guide covers how to read such offers and how to check prices, using PickMyCard’s terms as the worked example. PickMyCard says the main-sale terms came from secondary outlets, not Amazon, so the checkout page is the final word.

What the Sale Offers Looked Like

PickMyCard lists these card offers for the 2026 sale. The main-sale terms came from secondary outlets, so confirm at checkout.

OfferTerms (PickMyCard)
SBI Card10% instant discount including credit card EMI and No Cost EMI; cap 13,750 rupees per card; minimum 2,490 rupees per transaction, 4,990 rupees for mobiles net of exchange
SBI debit card10% on full payments only; cap 9,000 rupees
Amazon Pay ICICI5% for Prime members and 3% for others; no cap; invite-only
Prime‘Up to 10% extra benefits’, not explained

Read the Exclusions

Offers like these come with exclusions. PickMyCard lists excluded cards, including Cashback SBI, Flipkart SBI, Paytm SBI, corporate cards and RuPay credit cards via UPI. Excluded purchases include gift cards, recharges, bill payments, Amazon Pay balance loads, Prime subscriptions and travel.

How to Check the Price Is Good

A card offer is only a saving if the base price is fair. Which? (a UK consumer group) suggests comparing across retailers and checking price history with trackers, and NBC Select recommends tools such as CamelCamelCamel, Honey and Keepa. Indian availability of these tools varies, so test one on an item you know. Our own tip: screenshot the price a week before the sale so you can compare.

Exchange, EMI and Bundles (Our Guidance)

PickMyCard’s note about mobile minimums being net of exchange means an exchange can push you below the threshold. Other points are our general advice, not sourced: compare the No Cost EMI total with the cash price, check whether exchange value is guaranteed, and read bundle terms.

OptionWhat to compare
No Cost EMITotal paid versus a one-time payment
ExchangeValue offered versus selling elsewhere
BundleWhether you need every item

If the Sale Has Ended

I could not confirm when the main sale ends, so check Amazon.in directly. If it has ended, Diwali is on Sunday, 8 November 2026, and festive sales often continue around it, but that is an expectation, not a confirmed schedule. Pay off card balances in full to avoid interest, as our guide on how to pay off credit card debt fast explains.

FAQs

What was the SBI card offer in the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026?

PickMyCard reported 10 percent instant discount on SBI Credit Cards, including EMI and No Cost EMI, capped at 13,750 rupees per card, with a minimum of 2,490 rupees per transaction. Terms for the main sale came from secondary outlets, so confirm at checkout. Our own addition: keep screenshots of the offer page and your order confirmation, because they help if a discount does not apply at checkout and you need to contact support.

Which cards were excluded?

PickMyCard lists Cashback SBI, Flipkart SBI, Paytm SBI, corporate cards and RuPay credit cards via UPI as excluded. Purchases such as gift cards, recharges, bill payments, Amazon Pay balance loads, Prime subscriptions and travel were also excluded. Our own addition: read the offer terms on the bank’s and Amazon’s pages, because these change by card, by product and by day, and the checkout page decides what applies.

Is the sale still on?

I could not confirm the end date. PickMyCard says early deals ran from 25 September to 7 October 2026 and the main sale opened on 8 October with no end date listed. Today is 28 October, so check Amazon.in for current offers. If an offer has ended, do not rush a purchase just to catch it. Compare the item’s price history, wait for the next sale, and keep your target price in mind.

Do reward points still count on discounted orders?

PickMyCard says reward points on discounted orders are reversed later. That means an instant discount may cancel the points you would normally earn. Check your card’s terms before choosing the offer over a cashback or points card. Our own addition: if you rely on points or cashback from another card, calculate which gives more value on your order, since an instant discount may beat the points.

How do I know a sale price is real?

Compare across retailers and check price history. Which? and NBC Select recommend trackers such as CamelCamelCamel, Honey and Keepa, though availability in India varies. Note the price a week before the sale, then see whether the discount beats it. Our own addition: check that the price is not simply raised before the sale, and compare with another store, because a card offer only helps if the base price is fair.

Is No Cost EMI always free?

I did not find a source on this, so this is general guidance. Compare the EMI total with the one-time price, because the saving may be built into the listed price. Read the terms for processing fees and cancellation, and check them at checkout. Our own addition: a lower monthly amount can feel easier, but the total cost and any fees matter more, so compare both before choosing the instalment option.

Do the Math Before the Cart

A sale is only as good as the final amount you pay. Card caps, exclusions and exchange rules decide that, not the headline percentage.

Before Diwali on 8 November, list what you plan to buy, check each item’s price history and confirm the card terms at checkout. Then you can buy once, at a price you have verified.
